1988 924S
I purchased this 1988 924S in 2018 originally as a non running parts car. When back at the workshop I went through the car and was encouraged with what I found. It was a fairly solid car with lower than average mileage and only a few owners. It was also a non sunroof model which made it more tempting to restore. So the decision was taken to not strip the car and go ahead with a light/moderate restoration.
First job was to replace the left side outer sill which was rotten. Thankfully the inner sill was not too bad and was knitted back together. Then it was off to the paint room for strip down and other minor body repairs before moving on to rubdown and a nice new coat of Guards Red Paint. Once Chris and Ben had finished in the workshop and paint room it was back to the warehouse for me to give the tired interior a makeover. The dirty torn cream seats and carpet were changed to black and any missing or broken interior part was replaced.
So here is the end product with its proud new owner Paul. Our first restoration completed and as you can see I think we have done a very good job, Paul certainly thinks so.
